My Story

Born outside of Boden on December 28th 1980, Astor quickly became a puppy with lots of energy and fun. At 8 weeks he could finally come to his new home in Kalix and immidiately felt welcomed by Birgitta and Östen. Their parents wasn´t sure if it was a good idea to get a dog, but when they met him they couldn´t resist falling in love with him. The joy he brought and his kindness quickly made them forget any doubt they ever had. The curious little puppy grew and grew all too quickly but his personality didn´t change much. When Birgitta became pregnant with a daughter 2 years after bringing Astor home, they decided to let Astor spend more time with grandma Ester who was lonely after her husband had passed away. Ester quickly fell in love with Astor all over again and couldn´t wait to tell everyone what Astor had done when they visited. The new baby in the family, that´s me, was born in 1983 and Astor was very curious of the new little thing, but also very protective. He loved children and was never jealous of the new baby that got some of the attention he was used to getting. Instead he became a big part in baby´s life, and ever since I was born, he only knew me by the nickname "Baby", even when I grew up. A lot of fun times and memories came over the years. Astor became older and unfortunately couldn´t live forever. He was diagnosed with cancer in 1993 and became sick and it was time to let him fall asleep for the last time. That day was July 18th, a very sad day for us all. We miss you, Astor!
