For several years our kids begged us for a dog. First we got a bunny, that didn't satisfy them. Then we got two cats who they loved but it still wasn't enough, they had to have a puppy. In the spring of 2000, we saw an ad for Golden Retriever puppies in our local newspaper. Without telling the kids, we went to see them. We entered the breeders garage and saw 9 of the cutest little golden furballs ever. How could we ever choose just one? We had decided we wanted a girl and so we picked up each of the girl puppies one by one. Finally one little one just snuggled up to Bob and fell asleep in his arms. We knew that had to be our puppy!
About a week later, we took Kimberly, Jonathan and Stephen to meet their puppy. They were so excited. They wanted all of them. It was too soon to bring her home so we visited a few times and played with her in the breeders yard until she was old enough to bring home. On Fourth of July weekend , 2000
Mandee came to live with our family and life has never been the same.
She was a very active, happy puppy, getting into all the things that puppies get into. She ate the corners of kitchen cabinets and chewed holes in drywall. She dug huge holes in our yard and peed on our carpet., but all she had to do was look at us with her big brown eyes and we would all melt in front of her.
Everyone was Mandee's friend. She was a sweet, loyal , trusting dog right to the end and we are sure she passed knowing she was very loved. We will miss you and treasure our memories of you always, Mandee, our very Special Golden Girl!
