Nestle was adopted from the Humane Society Animal Shelter in October 1994. She was the quiet little one laying back in the corner of the kennel, while her brothers and sisters pounced around her. We fell in love with her.
She was 2 months old when we adopted her, four years after Ryan's diagnosis of cancer. Ryan picked out her name, Nestle, because she had beautiful chocolate colored hair. At that time, Eric, age 4, Erin, age 8, Ryan, age 9, Mom and Dad welcomed her home. She always had lots of love and attention.
She was very smart and learned tricks easily. She would open her Christmas gifts by herself. She could sit, lie down, jump, shake your hand, dance, roll over, play dead, speak, and kiss Bootie. Bootie, our Himalayan Persian kitten was welcomed home, (or not), by Nestle in 2002. Most of the time they were friends, however Nestle would scold Bootie when she saw him doing something mischievous. In time, Nestle learned to accept Bootie and they eventually slept by each other every night.
Nestle was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2008. She did well with medications, however she suffered from minor strokes. She then became blind in her right eye and had severe arthritis.
She lived 15 1/2 years. She passed away at home during the early morning hours of Sunday, March 14, 2010.
This tribute is in memory of her life with us. A video and a photo slideshow are added to this memorial.
There is an emptiness in our home, a life missed greatly. We were very blessed to have Nestle in our lives and we will never forget her.

these quite friends,
