Booger came into our lives at a very bad period . My husband had passed away on october 5 of 1994 and my 3 daughters and I went to California in November to visit family and get a much needed vacation . Booger was given to my youngest daughter Ciara as a way to help her deal with the loss of her father . At the time Booger was given to us she was 9 months old , she was very small and sneezed constantly . In fact her name was actually Snotz . That was a bit gross and Booger didn't seem so bad so thats when we changed it .
As soon as we returned to Texas we took Booger to the vet for a checkup and vaccinations and found out that she had bad allergies and that was the reason she was so small and sneezed all the time . The vet informed us that she probably wouldn't grow very much more due to the allergies .
Booger was the best cat a family could have . She was so gentle and loving . Because of the allergies she couldn't meow normally so when she tried to meow she squeeked . Booger loved to give kisses . She would walk up to us when we were either sitting on the floor or on the couch watching tv and stick her kitty lips to ours and smack .
I was never worried about her scratching the kids or anyone else because she was such a sweet gentle old soul . One day Booger went missing . We looked all over the neighborhood and around the yard and the shed where we kept our horse tack but there was no sign of Booger . I called my friend who was the animal control officer in our town and she thought perhaps coyotes may have gotten the cat . Of course we were all heart broken but none so much as my youngest daughter . Booger was her cat , her touchstone . Booger was a healer to my daughter after the loss of her dad .
Five days after Booger went missing my daughter had some friends over and one of the boys heard a very weak squeeky sound coming out of a tree in the yard next door . He looked up and there was Booger . She had climbed up in the tree (which we searched ) and could not get down . The friend went up and got her out of the tree . She was very thin and scraggly lookin . She was also starved for water . A day or two after we found her Booger was back to normal . We took her to the vet and he said that other than being thin she was fine .
Booger blessed us with several litters of kittens . All of which we always found very good homes for . Booger was happiest when we were all home and she could hang out with us on the couch . She was very good with other animals we had and her favorite past time was riding the rocking horse . (as seen in the photo) One d
