On Dec. 21st 1999 my friend and I had been driving home after breakfast.  All of a sudden I slam on my brakes.  A puppy ran out in front of my car.  We got out of the car and shued the puppy into someone's side yard where this starving dog had been consuming trash.  After asking permission to enter this person's filthy property, I coaxed this poor soul closer to me.  It took me an hour to get the dog close enough to where I could tackle him.  I was in a hurry, but, couldn't stomach leaving him there in squalor.  I loaded him into the truck.  As terrified as he was he did not aggress.  We took him home & gave him 3 baths in order to get all the filth off of him.  He had been covered in fleas.  From then on he was my boy.  He went practically everywhere with me. 

On May 25th 2011 I came home for a short bit before having to leave for a doctor's appointment.  He was his happy, active, normal self.  Everything was fine.  I was only gone maybe 2 hours.  He'd even eaten his lunch in my absence.  When I walked through the door, he wasn't waiting for me.  I knew something was wrong.  I found him laying next to my bed.  He looked like he had died in his sleep.  I hope that it was quick and painless.  The other dogs mourned his loss.  Lily had to be medicated for a few days due to the stress of his death.  Beeker roamed the house going room to room whimpering and looking for Nakona.  I miss him everyday.  I love you Bubby!!!!!!
