My Story

Taz was about 6 months old when we got her from a neighbour because she was out of control, and hurting her young children, being way too boistrous!
A lot of patience trained her in standard behaviour, but her thinking she was top dog never changed, meaning I had to watch her a lot round my son and his pals.
She didnt get along too well with other dogs either. Being brought up with next doors dog, she was used to the company, but would turn on her for no reason and get really nasty. She hated grooming and tried to bite me, run off, hold herself in a ball...lol it was always a chore! These factors got worse as she got older sadly.  (I know...my fault, I never learned to teach her)
She did enjoy running...she ran around like a border collie rounding sheep, or was a complete sniffer dog, enjoying woodlands best of all. She had a funny habit of sitting back on her hindlegs sometimes, looked very peculiar and made us laugh!
Her noisiness and over excitedness in the car stopped us going too far with her. We did take her camping in Morecambe, and she was well behaved on site!, and enjoyed the beach,

She enjoyed good health all her life, never being ill, and rarely but occasionally getting upset stomach, mostly in her old age though, until she suddenly got a growth in her mouth, which loosened a tooth. It was uncomfirmed if it may be cancerous, but it kept getting inflamed, and painful and ulcering. We thought the antibiotics were working at one point, as we started a 6 week treatment. The anti-inflamitories also seemed to give her a new lease of life, maybe helping her old bones. Sadly the mouth got worse, it was painful, and we had to have her put to sleep. We gave her 5 days before the appointment, and took her out which was the only part of the day she enjoyed at the end. We went to the woods, to a canal bank, and gave her...and ourselves a good send off to remember her by.
She was 14 years old when she passed.
